The assassination of John F. Kennedy was an extremely controversial topic. Many Americans believe that there was a conspiracy to kill Kennedy. Some believe it wasn't Lee Harvey Oswald who killed Kennedy and blamed groups as far up in the government as the C.I.A.
Friday, November 22 Dallas Texas, President Kennedy's motorcade drove through Dealey Plaza. President Kennedy was waving to the many civilians when the shot was made. Kennedy grabbed his neck and Governor Connally began to turn and shake because
he was hit by the same bullet. A finishing fatal blow was made to Kennedy's head. Kennedy slumped over after being shot in the Motorcade. President Kennedy was rushed to Parkland Hospital. Meanwhile, it was soon determined where the shots came from. In the sixth floor of the Book Depository a pile of boxes were found, stashed around a window, creating a "sniper's nest". A rifle was found that was just fired along with three spent cartridge shells. The window had a clear view of the site of the shooting. Lee Harvey Oswald, a former Marine and defector to the Soviet Union, was arrested around 2 PM. He was arrested at the Texas Theatre in the Oak Cliff suburb of Dallas and was charged for murdering police officer, J.D. Tippit. Oswald was paraded in front of the world's gathering cameras and accused of shooting President Kennedy. Kennedy's death was annouced at 1 PM after many attempts to keeping him alive failed at Parkland Hospital. An autopsy was run on his body at Bethesda Naval Hospital, and he was
buried at Arlington National Cemetary on November 25, 1963.
